Read Pitchfork’s article “Bill Callahan, the father of the family” and “David Berman have changed the way many of us see the world” in the Pitch. Bill Callahan played tonight at New York’s Webster Hall during the East Coast scene of his shepherd on a sheepskin vest tour. “The world is and remains a text by David-Berman,” Callahan writes. “I Remember Me” appeared on the silver Jews’ album Bright Flight in 2001. Following news of Berman’s death, many artists paid tribute to the late poet and singer-songwriter. David Berman died earlier this month at the age of 52. Callahan was among them.
