Listen to “War and Contract” and play 4 songs from “City of Hearts“: “Married World Cafe” and the musical duet of Tanya Blunt-Trotter and Michael Trotter, Jr. Jesse Scott, a correspondent for the World Cafe in Nashville, contacted The War and Treaty earlier this month to discuss it all, and the band kindly agreed to share some live performances of songs from Hearts Town with us. The War and Treaty addresses a number of complex issues, including jealousy in failed relationships and one of the deepest moments when he wasn’t sure if he could move on. The couple also did not escape this year’s protests against racial justice or how they paved the way for black musicians in the American world.
