Former MTV reality show personality Christopher Carney, the husband of actress Tiffany Thornton, was killed in a car crash in Arkansas.
Carney, whose mother is the mayor of Hot Springs, Arkansas, was pronounced dead at the scene, Arkansas State Police told local station THV11.
Another passenger, Ezekial Blanton, was also pronounced dead. “The City of Hot Springs Board of Directors, staff and employees extend their heartfelt sympathy to Mayor Ruth Carney, Rev. Ken Carney, Tiffany Thornton Carney, and the entire family upon the death of Chris Carney in a car accident which occurred early this morning,” the Hot Springs city board staff said in a statement.
“Please keep the Carney family in your thoughts and prayers at this time.”
Carney was married to former “Sonny With a Chance” star Thornton since 2011.
Carney is best known for his work as the lead singer in the band “The Prom Kings.” He was featured in the MTV show “Twentyfourseven” that followed him and his younger brother Greg’s move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment.
