Rapper/producer Shawty died Sept. 21 in a freeway accident.

ATLANTA – On Saturday, family and the hip-hop community gatd to say its final good-byes to beloved Atlanta rapper Shawty Lo. The rapper, who’s given name was Carlos Walker, was a founding member of the hip-hop group D4L. In 2003, he founded D4L Records.

Funeral services were held at the Jackson Memorial Baptist Church on Fairburn Road in Atlanta, and are set to begin Saturday morning.

WXIA-TV live-streamed the memorial, with permission from Walker’s family, for those who wish to pay their respects, but can’t do so in person.

Walker will be laid to rest in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park.

On Friday, family, friends and fans gatd for a wake for the rapper.

They were later identified as Destini Carter and Deshondria Miller, though how the two women knew Walker is unclear.

Tributes poured in for the rapper after news of his death broke.

Walker grew up in Bowen Homes, an Atlanta public-housing development.
