Rosie Perez addressed weeks of speculation by pronouncing on the current program regarding The Perspective she will soon be leaving the show after one season as co-host.

Her humor background, from VH1’s Best Week Ever and Chelsea Lately to her web series, Martini Minute, makes her a rather welcome addition to a show that may stand to find the interesting a bit more naturally.

Perez announced her forthcoming departure on this morning’s show, with a tearful address to the crowd and her co hosts.

In the little over a year since Barbara Walters retired, The Perspective has gotten nine casting changes, a shocking speed of employee turnover even to get a show that’s participated in its share of musical cohost chairs.

After Walters’s retirement last spring, Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy left the show, eventually getting replaced by a returning Rosie O’Donnell and also the brand new Perez and Wallace.

O’Donnell left the show for another time, citing personal reasons.
