Rejected refused to release a new galloping song called “Chippin’ In”, but the post-hardcore barn burner is not the result of the efforts of Swedish punk pioneers, their second album awaited since the last meeting five years ago. It’s one of those, in the typical “Rejected” way, it’s been going on for a long time and nobody likes to make records and it was a little exhausting. No, it comes from the soundtrack of a new video game called Cyberpunk 2077, and it’s not even technically a rejected piece. It is presented as a song from his musical alter ego Samurai, a seemingly virtual group that formed the quartet with the game’s developer, CD Projeckt. Earlier this year, leader Dennis Lyxzen announced his satisfactory, if not frightening, prospects for the new album Refused. It will be the continuation of his return Freedom 2015, the first in 17 years. But that does not mean that a new record of denial is not imminent. Listen to “Chippin’ In” at the bottom of this post. “We have a new album that’s almost ready, but not quite,” he says. Cyberpunk 2077 will go on sale on April 16, 2020. But we’re almost t, it feels good. The 2019 Loudwire is part of Loudwire Network, Townsquare Media, Inc.
