Marshall scored a big win taking down Purdue 41-31.

The star of the match was cornerback Tiquan Lang, who propelled the Thundering Herd to success.

Lang recorded 17 tackles and two interceptions, both of which he returned for a touchdown.

Boilermakers quarterback Austin Appleby had a game to forget, throwing four interceptions in 48 pass attempts.

He began the match with a 30-yard interception return for a touchdown on the game’s first play.

With Purdue driving down simply a field goal, Lang secured the win for the Thundering Herd with a 55-yard pick-six with just over a minute remaining.

Marshall’s following game is Sept. 12 at Ohio.
