MIAMI – Republican U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen said Friday that embattled presidential adviser Steve Bannon should be completely ousted from the White House because he has un-American views.

“I think it would be welcome news for the nation,” Ros-Lehtinen, who cheered Bannon’s recent removal as a National Security Council principal, said on the “Fernand Amandi Show” on 610-WIOD in Miami.

Ros-Lehtinen didn’t specify what her specific disagreements with Bannon were, but the pro-immigration reform congresswoman has clashed with the Trump administration over its deportation and refugee policies as well as its position on transgender restrooms.

Ros-Lehtinen sits in a Miami congressional district that President Trump lost.

Bannon, accused by many critics for injecting a strain of isolationism and white nationalism into Trump’s campaign and administration, didn’t return a message for comment.

“His views are not in line with our country,” Ros-Lehtinen, a foreign policy hawk and member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee said of Bannon.
