Not to be outdone, Nicki Minaj’s boyfriend Meek Mill went off on Drake on Twitter-just hour after Nicki’s VMAs tirade aimed at Taylor Swift.
On Kendrick Lamar’s brilliant rap song “King Kunta,” the Compton MC unleashes a veiled barb against a certain big name rapper who uses a ghostwriter.
“I can like rapping, but a rapper with a ghostwriter? / What / I vowed I would not tell / But most of y’all sharing bars like you got the bottom bunk in a two-man cell,” spits Kendrick.
Some believed Kendrick was throwing shade at Kanye West, who was accused of using uncredited ghostwriters back in 2007 by the rapper Consequence following his departure from Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music imprint.
Meek Mill, the 28-year old Philly rapper who is probably best known to the typical public for dating Nicki Minaj, went on a Twitter tantrum early Wednesday morning against Drake.
You see, Drake featured on Meek Mill’s recent single “R.I.C.O.” off his acclaimed album Dreams Worth More Than Money.
If you’ll recall, earlier in the evening Meek’s girlfriend Nicki Minaj protected Taylor Swift on Twitter for being nominated for the Video of the Year MTV VMA over her.
He once told me of Nicki: “If t is any woman in my entire life that is the ideal girl for me personally, it’s definitely Nicki,” said Drake.
“I like the stripped-down Nicki. I enjoy Nicki without any makeup, black hair, some informal clothes in a recording booth rapping a fantastic verse. That’s alluring if you ask me.” He added, “I know some great girls, but all jokes aside, Nicki is somebody I really could spend my life with because I believe we understand each other.”
