Taking control of this remake is Max Landis, son of John Landis, who wrote and directed the original Werewolf.

A few just didn’t want a remake to be done, but even among those, the realization was that if anyone was going to remake the Academy Award-winning original, it should probably be kept in the family.

Max seems a little underwhelmed by his dad’s film, stating that “It’s CRAZY how little happens in the movie.” Judging by his tweets, it looks like Max might be doing some major changes to the “Doctor/police” stuff – or excising them all together.

So it sounds like Max’s version of An American Werewolf in London will be significantly different than John’s.

The original film followed two American students who are attacked by a werewolf while just outside London.

A loose “Sequel” was released in 1997 called An American Werewolf in Paris, with none of the original cast.

Neither John nor Max Landis were involved in that film.
