The world and the Star Wars universe were in shock Friday with the news that Carrie Fisher had suffered a heart attack on board a flight headed into Los Angeles airport.

On Saturday morning, Harrison Ford released a statement to The Hollywood Reporter saying, “I’m shocked and saddened to hear the news about my dear friend. Our thoughts are with Carrie, her family and friends.”

Star Trek’s Captain Kirk, William Shatner, immediately spoke up on Twitter, asking “Everyone to stop for a moment and send special thoughts” to Fisher.

Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie, who played Captain Phasma in The Force Awakens, wrote: “The whole world is sending you so much love! Sending you the universe’s most powerful Force.”

Fifty Shades of Grey author EL James wrote “The world waits. Sending love and light” to Fisher and her family.

Actress Anna Akana was onboard Fisher’s flight and saw the crisis unfold first-hand.

Don’t know how else to process this but Carrie Fisher stopped breathing on the flight home.
