Baton Rouge-born rapper Lil Boosie revealed Wednesday that he’s been diagnosed with cancer, according to a now-deleted update to his official Instagram account.
XXL Magazine confirmed the update through Atlantic Records, noting that an official statement has yet to be released.
The Instagram post noted that Lil Boosie, also known as Boosie Badazz and whose real name is Torrence Hatch, was diagnosed with kidney cancer.
“I need all my fans to pray for me Doctor just told me I have cancer on my kidneys prayer is power that’s why I’m letting the world know prayfaboosie,” the post read, according to XXL. Lil Boosie has a history of health issues, most notably diabetes.
The rapper was released from Angola Prison in March 2014.
Since his release, Boosie moved to New Orleans and has been on tour almost non-stop.
