In the Austin neighborhood, a man was shot to death in a home in the 1000 block of North Lamon Avenue about 6:17 p.m., said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago police spokesman.

Less than a half-mile away from the evening killing, a 33-year-old man was shot to death about 1:45 p.m. in the 1100 block of North Leclaire Avenue, said Officer Nicole Trainor, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

The woman told officers a gunman approached, shot the man and then fled the scene on foot, Trainor said.

About 3:30 p.m., a 27-year-old man was shot in the 3900 block of West 83rd Street in the Ashburn neighborhood, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago police spokesman.

At 8:50 p.m., a 25-year-old man was shot in Rosemoor, said Chicago police spokesman Officer Hector Alfaro.

About 2:40 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in the city’s East Garfield Park neighborhood, Sweeney said.

The man told officers he was standing in the 100 block of South Homan Avenue, when a vehicle pulled up and someone inside fired shots in his direction.

Earlier Wednesday, a 42-year-old man was shot in a drive-by in the city’s Gresham neighborhood.

The man told officers he was standing outside when he was shot by someone in a passing vehicle, Trainor said.
