During their performance, the Sunday Service Choir sang “ Keep On Movin'” by Soul II Soul and the opening number from the classic movie “Belly” featuring DMX, among other songs. You can watch clips of Kanye West and the opening performance by the Sunday Service choir above, and listen to the memorial service here. After a delay of about two and a half hours, the service began with a haunting performance by Kanye West and his Sunday Service Choir. Kanye West’s Sunday service choir paid tribute to DMX. The premiere came after Kanye’s Yeezy brand teamed up with Balenciaga to release DMX tribute t-shirts. The rapper and band took the stage, dressed in red hoodies and sweatpants, to give a performance filled with gospel songs and soul music in honor of DMX. The album features an image of DMX between two crosses on the front and the phrase “In Loving Memory” on the back. The event was streamed live via YouTube for fans and other interested parties, and the audience was limited to close friends and family of the late rapper. The first of two funeral services for DMX began Saturday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The late rapper’s birth and death dates are also inscribed on the left and right sleeve of his T-shirt, respectively. The second memorial service for DMX will take place on Sunday, April 25 at 2 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on BET.
