Just when you thought the three official trailers for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom were already crawling with dino-sized shockers, this latest TV spot unearths a spoiler that was only hinted at between all the teeth, claws, and explosions.
You know how the third trailer teases Blue’s destiny as something other than being auctioned off in a cage like the T-Rex and the other species? If you’ve been ravenous to know exactly what that is all about, you do now.
Turns out InGen wants to use Blue’s genes to genetically engineer an entirely new life-form.
“Blue’s DNA will form the architecture of a completely new creature,” says a disembodied voice in the spot below, as shots flash across the screen: the raptor on someone’s tablet; cryogenically frozen tubes of dino DNA; and an eerie shot of what looks like an IV extracting blood.
Now think back to that pre-destruction scene in Jurassic World when Navy vet Owen disagreed with Barry about trained raptors being used for military operations.
The following scenes show the Jurassic Park franchise’s newest hybrid, the Indoraptor, climbing the Lockwood mansion, terrorizing Maisie, and facing off against Blue.
All of which opens up another question: Could this be that “Creature”? Were Blue’s genes used to create this monster? Or is she being exploited for something else?
