The actress, who grew up in St. Louis, suffered an unfortunate wardrobe mishap right before she was set to go on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Monday.

The zipper broke at the last minute, and Fischer had to quickly regroup.

Kimmel looked as shocked as everyone else when Fischer walked out in a white towel wrapped around her torso as if she’d just gotten out of the shower.

“I’m mentally freaking out I’m on a talk show in a towel, but I’m physically very comfortable.”

Fischer, former star of the hit comedy “The Office,” was on the show to promote her new ABC series, “Splitting Up Together.” She was born in Fort Wayne, Ind., but considers St. Louis her real hometown.

Her parents still live in the suburb Chesterfield; her sister and her family live in St. Louis County.

Fischer studied theater and journalism at Truman State University in Kirksville and roots for the St. Louis Cardinals.

In late 2016 Fischer arranged to remodel the kitchen and great room in her sister’s house through a series on the home design website Houzz, in which celebrities give home makeovers to relatives, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.
