Jack White received an honorary doctorate today at the opening ceremony of Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Earlier this month, Weiß attended a Loretta Lynn birthday party with Margo Price during a tribute performance. The hometown hero was honored for his commitment to the city and his contribution to art, according to ABC’s local affiliate, WXYZ. He recently brought together his rock band, the Raconteurs, for their first album in 11 years, Help Us Stranger. The album arrives on June 21 through Third Man Records.
