For five years, Jackson was the highest-grossing actor in the history of Hollywood, with his movies having earned billions upon billions at the US box office.

When Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens was released, Ford overtook him – and Jackson hasn’t taken it lying down.

“Laughing about it on Ellen yesterday, he said:”Harrison is still ahead of me because of Star Wars.

“He added:”Then I’ll be back as the highest-grossing actor in the history of Hollywood.

“Then Harrison made one movie and caught me!”.

Jackson, 68, was in the three Star Wars prequels; released in 1999, 2002 and 2005.

Ford has his name not only on four Star Wars films but also on the massive Indiana Jones franchise.

For now, Jackson is promoting Kong: Skull Island, which debuted its final trailer yesterday.
