As for the other songs that he personally would like to unearth, Fortus explains that during his 18 years of work with Guns N Roses they rehearsed “a lot” of songs that were not played on stage. “One that I would like – I really like this song – isPerfect Crime’. I’ve been playing with this band for years and for some reason we’ve never played live,” suggested the guitarist. Guns N’ Roses’ shows are notoriously long, as the band regularly plays more than 25 songs a night, leaving plenty of room to turn some songs on and off. Last fall some oddities were dusted off when “Locomotive” was played for the first time since 1992 and “Dead Horse” won the contract for the first time since 1993. “We like to record new songs,” Fortus told Forbes when asked to update GN’R’s new songs. More importantly, the band has not released original material with Slash and Duff McKagan since 1991, when the two Use Your Illusion albums were released. When GN’R’s new music is released this year, it will be the first material to make its debut since the release of Chinese Democracy in 2008. Guns N’ Roses will continue its world tour in 2020. “The last tour forLocomotive’ was a couple of times and it was really great. He realized that the band always has something on the cover waiting to be on set, when he added, “We always rehearse a little bit. However, guitarist Richard Fortus expects the band to launch something in 2020. 2020 Loudwire is part of the Loudwire, Townsquare Media, Inc. network.
