Dawn Richard Joins NPR Music’s “Second Line” Audition Party: All Songs Considered Join us for Dawn Richard’s “Second Line” audition party. At WNXP’s Jewly Hight host, we’re having a live conversation with Richard himself and Dawn’s mother, Debbie. The event will take place on kickoff day, April 30, at 2 p.m. ET. Join us for an evening of online listening for Dawn Richard’s Second Line. Dawn Richard makes music out of life, and as such, she has been unclassifiable ever since she split from co-founder she Danity Kane in 2009. Led by Jewly Hight band WNXP will have live chats with Richard himself and Debbie, Dawn’s mom. So feel free to join the conversation to ask questions or just share your love and thoughts about Dawn Richard. Like 2019’s New Breed, his sixth solo album is a tribute to his New Orleans roots and includes collaborations with producer Ila Orbis and Richard’s own parents. Richard boldly and appropriately opens Line 2 by saying, “I don’t need genre. I am the genre. “Althoughher’ core is pop, influences of dance, bounce, funk, synth-pop, hip-hop, R&B and electronic music blend together to create a sound that is completelyher. She’s a singer, songwriter, producer, dancer, Adult Swim host and owner of a vegan food truck. “She works.” You can sign up for NPR’s giveaway newsletter and watch it via YouTube. Screw her.
