CLEVELAND, Ohio – Longtime Cleveland Cavs fans will recall when the team started 2-19 but rallied to make the 1985 playoffs, nearly upsetting the Boston Celtics in a competitive five-game series.

It’s understandable for t to be questions about what the Cavs’ 5-7 start could mean for the 2017-18 season in the long run.

With that in mind, cleveland.com took a look back at James’ career to see how each of his teams started, and how they finished.

James’ three NBA championships – two with the Miami Heat and one with the Cavs – came after starting those seasons 8-4, 9-3 and 9-3.

The Cavs started 5-7 in James’ first season, a season that ended with a trip to the NBA Finals.

The Cavs started 0-9, were 1-11 at the 12-game mark and slipped to 2-19 before starting to turn things around.
