T was little debate that Carrie Underwood delivered in her well-received new video for The Champion, which premiered during Sunday’s Super Bowl. But fans were a bit more divided as to when the 34-year-old vocalist filmed the glitzy music clip – before or after the Grammy-winner fell outside her home, breaking her wrist and suffering facial injuries that required between 40 and 50 stitches to fix.
As it turns out, the former American Idol filmed the video for the uplifting song, which will also serve for the upcoming Winter Olympics, prior to the accident, according to a report from E! News.Scroll below for video.
The timeline involving the accident and the taping of the clip created plenty of buzz online, as some went on about the singer’s swift recovery, while others correctly insisted that the clip was filmed prior to her accident.
Others corrected those wondering about time timing, as one user wrote, ‘I’m laughing at people who think that Carrie Underwood lied about her injury … They filmed the video before her accident!’.
Regardless of when the clip was filmed, the resilient Underwood looked fine when she posed for a selfie with Adrienne Gang of the reality show Below Deck star in December, about a month after the accident.
The country music princess didn’t address the issue as she received plaudits for the video on Sunday, tweeting congratulations to the winning team, the Philadelphia Eagles and their fans.
