Bindi Irwin breaks down on DWTS. Bindi Irwin breaks down as she recalls the memories of her father Steve Irwin, ‘The Crocodile Hunter’, before performing a tribute dance for him.

Bindi Irwin, now 18-years-old, recently sat down withUs Weekly to recall her favourite memory with her dad. And, of course, crocodiles have a starring role.

While Irwin was only eight when her dad was killed by a stingray, Steve had her involved with all kinds of wildlife even before she could walk or talk.

Despite her young age, it was Irwin’s belief in his daughter that cemented it as Bindi’s favourite memory.

“I just remember how excited I was that Dad believed in me to jump on the crocodile’s head. It was actually our last family photo together, this photo of me holding onto the crocodile’s head and my mom and dad and brother all on the crocodile as well. He believed in me, and all I wanted to do was make him proud. This was a really special moment and a really special photo.”

Steve Irwin, who was affectionately known worldwide as The Crocodile Hunter, died on September 4, 2006 after a stingray barb pierced his chest.

Irwin is survived by his wife Terri and his two children Bindi, 18, and Robert, 13, who have continued his charity Wildlife Warriors.
