Marvel just dropped the hammer with its reveal of Tessa Thompson’s role in the upcoming “Thor: Ragnarok.”
Thompson will need that sword against a formidable on-screen foe in “Thor 3.” Two-time Oscar winner Cate Blanchett is playing the big baddie – Hela, the Norse goddess of the underworld.
Jeff Goldblum will play a cosmic game-playing menace known as Grandmaster; “Star Trek” vet Karl Urban is beaming on as an Asguardian warrior called Skurge.
Naturally, Gods-among-men Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston will reprise their roles as Thor and Loki.
Mark Ruffalo will appear as Thor’s Avengers teammate, the walking anger management issue known as The Hulk.
Which means, of course, t will be another throwdown between the two Marvel heroes, a rematch of their fight in 2012’s “Avengers.”
“I’d like to think I let him win last time, but because this movie is called ‘Thor,’ I have to win this time,” Hemsworth told the Daily News late last year.
“It’s hard to have a conversation with the Hulk.”.
“Thor: Ragnarok,” directed by Taika Waititi, hits theaters on Nov. 3, 2017.
