After over a year of blissful, public coupledom, Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris have parted ways.
People magazine says “Multiple sources” have confirmed the news with one saying, “T was no drama. Things just don’t work out sometimes.” Harris was in a major car crash last week that prompted him to cancel two shows.
An E! source says, “This all happened last week. Taylor and [Calvin] had no big blowout fight, but the romance just was not t anymore for them. [He] is the one that ended it. It was all done in a very mature fashion. Taylor is pretty upset but they are still in communication. Taylor was t for [him] with his accident and supportive.”
Even at the time, some of Swift’s closest friends like Lorde and Jack Antonoff were skeptical that Swift would be able to quit her workaholic ways.
Lorde agreed saying, “I think she’s going to try to pick up some new skills, maybe take courses in something. Tay is a big fan of taking time off until about month two-and then she gets this look in her eyes, and I know all the Dateline and frozen yogurt and mooching around is about to go out the window.”
Even Swift admitted, “I’m always going to be writing songs. The thing is, with me, I could very well come up with three things in the next two weeks and then jump back into the studio, and all of a sudden the next record is started. That’s an option, too.” With such fertile material as a recent breakup-one of Swift’s favorite subjects-we might see a new album from Taylor even sooner than expected.
