by the way, i would have added the coup’s soundtrack to ‘sorry to bother you’ in the list yes i know it’s a rehash but t is such a fire under black protest pop-funk/hip hop right now so glad the lady monaé’s album is right up t though – deep respect to the guardian for supporting her for so long (unlike me, who only really went full on ‘holy shit she’s amazing’ this year)
