CLEVELAND, Ohio – Tyreke Smith landed Friday in Oregon for The Opening and took a few steps closer to his college football destination.

Smith, the 6-foot-4, 260-pound defensive end from Cleveland Heights, announced his top five college choices via Twitter.

More than 40 schools offer scholarships to Smith in the last year.

Smith then jumped up the 2018 recruiting class rankings.

Smith got in a seven-on-seven workout Thursday before flying to Beaverton, Ore.

Smith is participating in The Opening as a defensive end.

Smith said Thursday he intends to announce his college decision in January at the Under Armour All-American Game in Orlando, Fla.
