Harbaugh took over as Michigan’s head coach in the final days of 2014 and understood his first priority was recruiting.

The outside, from Michigan’s recruiting department to the Rutgers fan base, was apparently hard at work.

The Michigan coaches have all spent significant time in the state over the past few years and realize its value.

The 2017 class will probably be spread out a bit more, with Rutgers, Florida and Syracuse already with commitments from the top six and the state’s No. 1 player, Paramus Catholic linebacker Drew Singleton, reportedly leaning toward Michigan.
