Grammy winner The Weeknd is often praised for his ‘silky’ voice.

Grammy winner The Weeknd says the legendary singer Michael Jackson was almost like a third parent to him.

The 26-year-old singer said he grew up listening to him adding that when he was born, Jackson’s music is what his mother heard, reported Contactmusic.

His second studio album, Beauty Behind the Madness, has been compared to Jackson’s Thriller.

“He’s a part of my family. When I was born, that was the music my mother was listening to. Michael Jackson is a third parent to me,” he said.

Quincy Jones, who produced 1982 record Thriller, was won over by The Weeknd when they met in Las Vegas in 2015, with the 83-year-old describing the younger man as sincere and down-to-earth.
