Update: Two suspects, a man and a woman, were shot and killed in an officer-involved shooting, a police official told reporters.

San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan said that they were both dressed in “Assault-style clothing” and armed with assault rifles, handguns, and what he described as “Sensitive stuff around the vehicle.” He said police were continuing to take a cautious approach in case t were explosives t.

Update: After a pursuit and shootout between officers and individuals who may have been involved in the shooting, a police official told reporters that one officer was shot and taken to a hospital with injuries that are not life threatening, that at least one suspect was down, and that another might still be on the loose.

“I believe a suspect is still outstanding,” the police spokeswoman said.

Up to 20 people have reportedly been shot at a facility for people with developmental disabilities in San Bernardino, California, and police are currently on the hunt for three shooters who fired upon the facility, fled in a black S.U.V., and left a suspicious device on the premises, according to the Los Angeles Times.

San Bernardino county police spokeswoman Sgt. Vicki Cervantes told reporters at the scene that the suspects were heavily armed and likely wearing body armor, and that a bomb squad had been called in to investigate the device.
