An absolute legend walked into the booth today to call the Auburn-Alabama game live on our televisions.
Our wonderful uncle Verne Lundquist has been on a retirement tour all season.
That wasn’t the only surprise, because Bama alum Joe Namath waltzed into the booth in the first half and gave Lundquist quite the surprise.
“I’ve been surprised a few times this season, that was a stunner,” Lundquist said.
Namath spent some time in the booth and broke down the game.
He joked that next year they could hang out and “We can break curfew the night before the game.” And you bet he put on the trademark fur coat.
Then he left, just as quickly as he came, but not before showing Lundquist some love on his way out.
