Today in “Couples you probably never expected” news, Chris “Captain America” Evans is reportedly dating Jenny “Marcel the Shell” Slate.
Us Weekly broke the news of their alleged romance early this morning, although people who listen to Anna Faris’s podcast, Anna Faris Is Unqualified, might have picked up on the extremely flirtatious relationship developing between the two during the April episode on which Evans and Slate appeared.
Evans and Slate met on the set of Gifted, an upcoming drama about a man who winds up in a custody battle for his brilliant niece following the death of his sister.
If an anonymous source has anything to say about it, Slate and Evans are ON. The two have yet to comment on whether their relationship has turned romantic, though.
Evans famously has a female best friend from Boston he’s known since childhood, so the idea of him picking up another platonic female BFF wouldn’t be too far-fetched.
We’ve reached out to Slate and Evans’ reps for comment and will update this story when Captain America is able to pause fighting in the Civil War to respond.
