In response to Jada Pinkett Smith’s criticisms regarding how All Eyez on Me portrayed her relationship with 2Pac, the biopic’s producer L.T. Hutton argues that Jada didn’t understand the story that the film was trying to tell.

“I created the Holy Trinity, it’s who 2Pac was, who he wanted to be, and who he had to be to survive the world he was introduced into,” Hutton told TMZ. “So, each part of the film, you have the things that, ‘Okay, that’s who 2Pac was,’ and then you will have moments w it’s like, ‘Oh, that’s who he wanted to be,’ and t’s other things that he wanted to do that he didn’t get to do that we add in because it’s the 2Pac movie.”

On Friday, Jada fired off a series of tweets, highlighting a number of inaccuracies in the film’s plot.

Hutton claims to be taken aback by the actress’ remarks because the last he heard, she seemed satisfied with the biopic.

“Multiple best friends, I mean, people that eat dinner with her all the time have seen the movie, and they love it,” Hutton said.

“They told her about it, and they told me that they explained to her, and everything was great. This was years ago.”

Jada wasn’t the only one to slam the story being told in All Eyez on Me. 50 Cent was even harsher, calling the biopic a “Lifetime TV movie in a theater” on Instagram.

“I’m a big 2Pac fan. I just don’t think his story was done well; he deserved better,” 50 wrote.

“The shit felt like I was watching a Lifetime TV movie in a theater. I wanted to change the channel.” Through it all, the film has already made a reported $33.5 million.
