The scene was something of a landmark occasion for the character, who last utilised her fireproof powers at the end of season one, when she emerged from Khal Drogo’s funeral pyre unburnt with three newly hatched dragons.

Clarke told Entertainment Weekly that she opted not to use a body double, unlike fellow cast member Lena Headey, who made headlines last year when a body double 14 years her junior was used for Cersei’s infamous walk of shame scene in season five.

The 28-year-old said: “I’d like to remind people the last time I took my clothes off was season 3. That was a while ago. It’s now season 6. But this is all me, all proud, all strong. I’m just feeling genuinely happy I said ‘Yes.’ T ain’t no body double!”.

Clarke has used a body double in the past to film scenes w she doesn’t speak, but appears in the background.

Model Rosie Mac, who has not worked on season six of the show, gained legions of fans and Instagram followers after publicising her role as Clarke’s double during season five.

Previously, it was reported that Clarke disliked nude scenes and had refused to do them after the first season of Game of Thrones.
