Just months after Kentucky Fried Chicken introduced former Saturday Night Live player Darrell Hammond as its new Col.

Sanders, the chain has swapped in fellow SNL veteran Norm Macdonald as its latest white-suited, bespectacled purveyor of crispy yardbird.

Sanders viewing his predecessor on TV and insisting, “I am the actual Col. Sanders – and this is how you sell chicken.”

When Hammond took up the Sanders mantel back in May, KFC touted his abilities as an impersonator.

“Other than not quite looking like him, his voice being different, and his inability to cook the world’s finest chicken, we presumed Norm was an ideal option to play the Actual Colonel,” said Kevin Hochman, KFC’s chief marketing officer, in a statement.

In the aftermath of the statement Monday, Macdonald, a comedian known for his quirky yet blase delivery style, noted on Twitter that Colonel Sanders was “Trending like crazy.”
