Eight years after she last found herself on the set of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Mary Steenburgen is very happy about having had the chance to get back into the improvisational groove.

She and real-life husband Ted Danson will once again feature in the ninth season of Larry David’s misery-soaked comedy, and although time constraints affected how long she was able to stay on set, Steenburgen didn’t let that curb her own enthusiasm.

“I’m so glad because it [has been] so long now that we really didn’t know if it was going to happen,” the actress told EW. “And we never got a straight answer out of him when we would ask him over the last couple years. And people asked us constantly, ‘When’s Curb coming back?’ That, and ‘When are you making Step Brothers 2?’ And then last summer, suddenly said, ‘I think we’re doing it,’ and he pitched the idea for our part of it.”

It’s been exactly a year since Curb Your Enthusiasm fans found out that a ninth season of the endlessly popular HBO comedy was coming their way, but we’ve heard precious little about it since.

We’ll bring you more on the new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm as we have it, including that elusive airdate.

While the Bad Santa star is used to sticking to a very elaborate script over on Gilmore Girls, trying to adapt to a completely different way of doing things on the Curb set was a bit harder than she imagined.
