April 15 – Major League Baseball umpire Dale Scott had a concussion after taking a foul tip to the mask Friday at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.
Scott, 57, was umpiring the Baltimore Orioles’ 6-4 victory when the latest incident occurred.
After being hit with the ball, he stumped backwards before being brought down to his knee.
Second base umpire Brian Knight took over for Scott behind home plate.
Scott was ruled out for the remainder of the series.
He also suffered a concussion after being hit with a foul tip last season.
Scott was released from the hospital on Saturday morning in Toronto.
